Labels on rolls

What are the advantages of self-adhesive labels printed on rolls?
Relatively fast label production, custom shapes, they occupy less space, and storing in rolls is more practical than storing in sheets.
What colors can be used for printing?
We can print labels in one color 1/0 (black or white), in colors (full color 4/0 CMYK), and 5/0 white + full color (4/0 CMYK). We can also produce metallic labels using metallized film + 5/0 printing (white 1/0 + full color 4/0).
What shape can the labels be?
Labels can be of any shape, from standard square shapes to complex star shapes.
What core sizes do we use?
The cardboard core is a paper tube. The core is intended for winding labels onto a roll when producing self-adhesive labels.
The core diameter, wall thickness and length are specified in terms of reference. Popular core sizes that we use in the label production are 76 and 41 mm.

Labels in sheets
When a small number of labels is required, it makes more sense to cut them into sheets, such as A4 sheets.

What are the advantages of labels in sheets?
Labels are printed onto a roll and cut to the desired size, just as with typical roll labels. For small quantities or when labels are applied by hand, it may make more sense to cut them to A4 size rather than making a roll. Moreover, sheet labels may be individually distributed among people, which is complicated in the case of roll labels. Sheet labels are only suitable for manual application, they can be easily removed from the base and applied directly to an item.
Can you print labels individually?
Yes we can, when necessary. Please specify in your request that the labels must be printed individually. (1 pc.)
What colors can be used for printing on A4?
We can print labels in one color 1/0 (black or white), in colors (full color 4/0 CMYK), and 5/0 white + full color (4/0 CMYK). We can also produce metallic labels using metallized film + 5/0 printing (white 1/0 + full color 4/0).
What shape can the labels be?
Labels can be of any shape, from standard square shapes to complex star shapes.
LABEL TYPES AND MATERIALS

Paper labels

Film labels

Metallized label
Paper labels are used when goods are not going to be subject to long transportation or multiple transfers from container to container. Paper labels will be an ideal solution for marking a product in this case.
Polypropylene labels look brighter and more attractive, retain print quality longer, and are more resistant to wear and durable.
Metallized film labels The base of such a label is laminated to imitate gold or silver. Metallization provides an original and eye-catching design, bringing a touch of class to the overall appearance of the goods.
We print labels on the following materials:
Paper labels:
-
White semi-gloss paper with permanent adhesive. Permanent adhesive is intended to ensure that the label is securely attached to the working surface of a package for the entire product life.
-
White semi-gloss paper with black adhesive.
-
Cream Antique is cream-color matte uncoated paper.
-
White self-adhesive thermal paper.
-
Thanks to its natural, untreated texture, Vellum paper has a matte finish.
Polypropylene labels:
-
White glossy film with permanent adhesive. Permanent adhesive is intended to ensure that the label is securely attached to the working surface of a package for the entire product life.
-
White glossy film with extra strong adhesive. Extra-strong adhesive featuring better tackiness and adhesion to non-polar materials and surfaces with significant roughness. It can be plywood, wood, etc.
-
White glossy film with removable adhesive. Removable adhesives make it possible to remove the label from the working surface of a package after a certain period of time without leaving traces of adhesive.
-
Transparent film with permanent adhesive
-
Metallized silver film with permanent adhesive.
Postprocessing
Laminating and laser die-cutting using Cartes GE362.
Laminating is the process of coating printed products with a film. The main purpose of lamination is to protect printed products from various aggressive external influences.

Matte film lamination

Glossy film lamination

UV varnish
Matte film gives the surface a feeling of quality, does not glare, and is fingerprint-resistant.
Glossy film gives the products an external shine, making the colors brighter and more saturated.
A transparent protective varnish is applied to the labels at the end of the production process before cutting to maximize the lifetime of your labels. Available in matte / glossy UV-protective varnish.

Technical requirements
For file transfer we accept:
-
E-mail;
-
FTP-Server; ftp.moden.ee/ (username: ftp.moden.ee; pass: Moden1 );
-
Uploaded files to cloud storage (direct link that does not require authorization)
Only .pdf files are accepted for printing!
.cdr and .psd are not suitable!
Bleeds, bleed areas and inner margins

Design with bleed
Cut Line
Important!
-
the layout size must correspond to the print size (1:1)
-
the trimbox must be in the center of a PDF page
-
bleed areas must be at least 3 mm at all sides
-
internal margins (indents from the cutting line and/or fold line to contents) must be at least 4 mm

Design with bleed
Cut Line
Requirements for bitmap materials
-
bitmap file scale: 1:1
-
resolution: 300 dpi digital printing
-
CMYK color model, TIFF format (no compression, LZW or ZIP compression)
-
no layers (only background layer), no alpha channels
-
RGB to CMYK conversion using ISO Coated v2 ECI profile. Use of the default profile (U.S. Web Coated) may cause color distortion.
Requirements for vector materials
-
texts in objects ("curves")
-
CMYK color model (including bitmap objects)
-
bitmap effects (transparencies, shadows, etc.) must be rasterized at 300 dpi
-
bitmap images in 1:1 scale (pre-rotated, cropped and scaled in a painting program)
-
Overprint must be deactivated for all objects
Winding and label size
Winding direction is important in machine labelling. Please be sure to specify the number when ordering.
The roll width corresponds to the first digit in the label size.
Layout of self-adhesive labels on a roll, where the letters Abc indicate text direction:
1-4 Outwound (Most Common)
5-8 - Inwound

It is important to first specify the label width and then the label height in the file name. Our program will only set the correct winding if the label dimensions are specified in that order.
-
Label А size 60(width) х 80(height) mm, Label B 80(width) х 60 (height) mm.
